ROG confirms GeForce RTX 40 series card coming this 20th September
While NVIDIA has been teasing #ProjectBeyond since earlier this month, they didn’t exactly mention that they will be announcing new cards. After all, NVIDIA has a pretty diverse portfolio, and gaming graphics cards are just one of them. But hey, the Republic of Gamers have just announced a special event titled “Next-Gen Cards Unveiled”, taking the guesswork out of the equation.
New GeForce RTX 40 series cards this 20th September
The title of the event leaves little to the imagination, and we can probably see ASUS ROG come in swinging with a full lineup of heavyweights. And I mean that quite literally, as the last-gen ROG Strix GeForce RTX 30 series were serious behemoths. With this year’s cards expected to draw even more power, I dare say that the coolers will probably be even beefier.
However given the current situation, we could see NVIDIA do a slow burn when it comes to availability. ETH has just gone proof-of-stake, after the recent crypto crash. This has resulted in a situation where there’s more supply than demand for the Ampere GPUs. I believe that NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series cards will be hard to come by, at least until later this year, after most of the GeForce RTX 30 series inventory has been cleared off.
