My Love for ProArt
It all began with a monitor, a ProArt monitor. It sparked my undying devotion towards the ProArt brand and drove me to learn everything about ProArt. As more ProArt products made their way into the market, ranging from laptops, desktop sets, motherboards, and most recently, Graphic Cards, I knew I had to get my hands on them.
But does it make sense for a ProArt Graphics card? As a renowned brand designed for content creators, what magic does ProArt breathe into the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080? We begin this review with an open heart, not knowing what to expect.
Asus ProArt RTX 4080 OC Exterior
The Asus ProArt GeForce RTX 4080 OC is perhaps the least gaming-looking card I have seen in ages. Gone are the flashy lights and edgy designs; this card is designed with boldness, balance, and simplicity in mind. The entire body, including the radiator, is black. The logos are brought to the front and centered as the main focus of the design, serving as the only highlight of the card’s exterior.
The card design is both elegant and classy. Other than the fan and the gap, which are placed with perfect symmetry, the heat sink cutout forms a circular shape, resembling the letter “O” in the word “Pro.” This is both classy and elegant, and it seems like the card is designed to be mounted horizontally since the most interesting points of the GPU are placed on the side and the top.
The ProArt RTX 4080 stays true to the design language of ProArt, as its products have always been utilitarian with a no-nonsense approach.

Temperature
Asus ProArt RTX 4080 OC Conclusion
Priced at RM6899, which is about RM300 premium over other RTX 4080 cards, yet in the same ballpark as the ASUS ROG Strix RTX 4080. I find that Asus is positioning the ProArt as the polar opposite of the ROG series, offering a different choice for users who prioritize premium performance and aesthetics.
Based on the data we collected, the Asus ProArt RTX 4080 16GB GDDR6X OC performed commendably, but left some room for improvement in terms of thermal performance. We tested all our games at their most demanding settings and found that it averaged around 62 fps in Cyberpunk 2077, 105 fps in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and about 90 fps in Far Cry 6. We also conducted another benchmark in Far Cry 6 with HD textures and DirectX Reflection and Shadow, where it still managed to achieve an average of 78 fps.
In terms of thermals, we subjected the card to FurMark for approximately 45 minutes, and it reached an average temperature of 80°C, with the hot spot reaching 99.5°C. This was unexpected, as the Aorus Master RTX 4080 we tested maxed out at 61°C in GPU temperature while reaching 72.6°C at the hot spot. However, it’s worth noting that the Aorus card is significantly larger in size, likely offering greater cooling capacity as a result.
One thing that caught our attention is the compact size of the Asus ProArt RTX 4080 16GB GDDR6X OC. While it is still a 2.5-slot card, it is the most compact RTX 4080 we have seen so far. We tried fitting it into a Cooler Master NR200P case, and it fit perfectly. This opens up more options for ITX users when it comes to selecting a graphics card.
It is evident that Asus put a lot of effort into the aesthetics of the Asus ProArt RTX 4080 16GB GDDR6X OC. However, considering its price point, while the card is still a beast in terms of performance, we would expect better thermal performance. It is perfect for all-black or sleeper builds that don’t require flashy lights but prioritize raw power (just ensure that the build has ample airflow). As such, the card has its audience, but for those seeking better cooling capabilities or a flashier design, there’s always the ROG variant available.
