A Twenty-Year Wellness Story Starts Its Next Chapter in Kuala Lumpur
International wellness technology brand Amezcua is kicking off 2026 with a global rollout of the GX-1 Bio-Reset System, a non-powered grounding mat designed to slot into everyday wellness routines. The Kuala Lumpur launch, held on 27 February 2026, marks the first stop in a broader regional expansion that will carry the brand across the Middle East, Central Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa by the end of the year.

Amezcua, the wellness technology arm of direct selling company QNET, is using the GX-1 to celebrate its 20th anniversary. According to the Global Wellness Institute’s 2024 figures, Malaysia’s wellness economy is valued at approximately USD $31.8 billion, a backdrop that makes the country a strategic launch pad for consumer-led, lifestyle-oriented wellbeing products. The GX-1 lands directly into that demand curve, offering a simple, screen-free tool that does not need electricity, charging, batteries or any powered connection to function.
The system is designed around a conductive connection wire linking a primary mat to a secondary floor contact pad. As a non-powered mat, the GX-1 does not generate electrical current or emit signals, and Amezcua is careful to position it as a lifestyle product rather than a medical device. “Over the past two decades, we have observed a global shift from reactive healthcare to proactive wellbeing,” said Mattias Mildenborn, Chief Executive Officer of QNET. “The GX-1 reflects that transition by offering a simple, non-powered solution designed to integrate seamlessly into modern lifestyles without requiring additional digital dependency.”
The Grounding Concept and Amezcua’s Scientific Backing
Grounding, also referred to as “earthing,” is a wellness practice that continues to attract international interest. The GX-1 is developed under the guidance of the Amezcua Scientific Advisory Board, which includes experts in energy science and integrative health, notably Professor Dr. Konstantin Korotkov, whose published work has explored bioelectrical and environmental interactions through his Bio-Well research platform. Amezcua’s wider product ecosystem also includes the Bio Disc, Bio Light, Chi Pendant, E-Guard X and the GX-1, all anchored by its proprietary Amezcua Resonance Technology (ART).
Elena Khoo, Chief Marketing Officer of QNET, stressed the importance of clear communication as consumer literacy grows. “The wellness sector is evolving rapidly, and consumers are increasingly discerning. Our responsibility is to communicate clearly that grounding is positioned as a complementary lifestyle practice, not a form of medical care or intervention. Transparency builds long-term trust,” she said.
Materials, Safety and Everyday Use
On the materials side, the GX-1 combines an electroconductive polyurethane (PU) upper layer with a Thermoplastic Polyester Elastomer (TPE) foam base. Independent testing by Bureau Veritas confirmed that the materials comply with the European Union’s REACH chemical safety regulation, with no Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) detected. The mats are also hypoallergenic and rated safe for prolonged skin contact, and the product is manufactured under an ISO 9001:2015-certified quality management system.
The GX-1 ships as a pack of two: a large mat for versatile use, such as placing it on a bed beneath a sheet, using it on a chair or sofa, or laying it out as a yoga mat, plus a small mat for portability, including travel use, seated desk work or placement at the feet during flights. For users who want extended coverage, the two mats can be connected together to create a larger continuous grounding surface.
The product is available through the official QNET e-store and via authorised Independent Distributors in participating markets, with the brand expected to widen availability as the 2026 regional rollout progresses.
Our Take
Amezcua’s GX-1 is a niche but interesting product for Malaysian consumers who are already spending on wellness, from supplements to recovery tech, and want a tool that is the opposite of a smartwatch: silent, non-powered and physically inert. That positioning is smart for a market increasingly wary of “wellness tech” that demands an app, a subscription and a firmware update just to turn on.
The key for Malaysian buyers is to read the marketing claims with the same maturity that Amezcua is asking for. The brand is upfront that the GX-1 is a lifestyle product, not a medical device, and that grounding is positioned as a complementary practice. Independent REACH compliance and ISO 9001 manufacturing add credibility, but anyone with skin sensitivities or medical conditions should still consult a healthcare professional before extended use, as they would with any product designed for prolonged skin contact.
At under RM1,000 through authorised channels for the two-mat pack, the GX-1 sits in impulse-purchase territory for the wellness-curious, especially frequent travellers who want a portable grounding option for flights and hotel rooms. If Amezcua can keep the distribution clean and the messaging honest, the GX-1 has a real shot at becoming a quiet staple in the Malaysian wellness kit, rather than another gadget that ends up in a drawer.
