Priced at RM1,399 for a single 8GB RAM + 256GB storage configuration, the Pova 8 5G slots into a crowded sub-RM1,500 bracket. What sets it apart on paper is the combination of an 8,000mAh battery, a 144Hz display and a customisable LED matrix on the rear that Tecno calls the Alive Matrix Display.
Pricing, Colours and Shopee-Exclusive Launch
The Pova 8 5G ships in three colours: Arc White, Graphite Black and Helios Orange. With only one SKU available, buyers do not have to wade through RAM or storage variants. At RM1,399, it undercuts most 8,000mAh-and-above rivals in Malaysia, including the realme P4 Power 5G (RM1,599).

Underneath sits the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 built on a 6nm process, paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Tecno says the chipset can push Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Honor of Kings at up to 90fps.
For thermals, the device uses Tecno’s Ice Cooling System 3.0 with a 15,000mm² graphite sheet. Tecno claims a 12.5 percent improvement over the previous generation. What we still want to see: confirmed charging wattage for the Malaysian unit, real-world gaming frame-rate tests, and clarity on Tecno’s local warranty and software update commitment.
