A Nationwide Stage for Malaysia’s Young Creators
vivo Malaysia has officially opened submissions for the vivo X300 Ultra Youth Creator Awards, a nationwide short-form video competition designed to give young Malaysians a real platform to tell their stories through smartphone imaging. Announced on 8 June 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, the campaign runs until 15 July 2026 and is built around the message “Born to Create”, a fitting frame for a generation that has grown up shooting, editing and publishing on mobile.

Open to Malaysian residents aged 17 to 28, the competition invites participants to submit original short-form video content from 8 to 21 June 2026, choosing from one of three creative themes: Everyday Life, Explore The World, and Pet Diaries. From the open submission pool, five outstanding entries will be shortlisted for the final round, where those creators will be handed a vivo X300 Ultra to produce a brand-new video from 29 June to 15 July, before the final winners are announced. Selected winners will receive vivo products, travel experiences, and the opportunity to continue their creator journey with 1-Year Exclusive Access to vivo devices.
The campaign is grounded in vivo’s belief that every person, place, and fleeting moment holds a story worth telling. As short-form video has become one of the most natural ways for young people to express themselves, smartphones have become more than communication devices. They are creative tools that allow a new generation to capture life as it happens, share personal perspectives and build their own visual identity.
The Devices: vivo X300 Ultra and X300 FE

The competition is anchored by two imaging-driven smartphones. The vivo X300 Ultra is positioned as the flagship option for serious young creators who want cinematic output from a mobile form. It carries ZEISS Triple Prime Lenses, a 200MP 85mm Portrait Mode ZEISS APO Super Telephoto Lens with 3-degree Gimbal-Level OIS Stabilisation, full-range 4K 120fps recording, 10-bit Log video and the all-new Pro Video Mode. For travel films, lifestyle videos, stage performances and cinematic short-form content, the X300 Ultra is built to give creators finer control over framing, capture and post.
The vivo X300 FE is the everyday creator’s companion, designed to bring accessible flagship imaging into a lighter, easier-to-use device. It features a 50MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera, AI Stage Mode and Dual-View Stage Video, and it is compatible with the vivo ZEISS 200mm Telephoto Extender Gen 2 for richer telephoto perspectives. Whether the user is shooting campus life, travel clips, concerts or social-first content, the X300 FE is meant to deliver dependable results without requiring a full production kit.
Born to Create Workshop at JPM Museo

Ahead of the submission window, vivo Malaysia hosted the “Born to Create” Workshop on 4 June 2026, an immersive hands-on creator event developed in partnership with JPM Museo and FoneRewards. Held at JPM Museo, the workshop brought aspiring young creators together for a full day of smartphone imaging, cinematic short-video production, portrait shooting and creator networking. The venue, which features over 140 limited-edition supercars and classic vintage collectibles, gave participants a visually rich environment to practise content creation and discover new storytelling angles.
Throughout the session, participants put the vivo X300 Ultra and X300 FE through their paces across real-world content scenarios, from dynamic subject capture and portrait framing to stage-style shooting, telephoto storytelling and social-first video creation. For vivo Malaysia, the workshop is part of a longer play: it is not just selling phones, it is seeding a youth creator ecosystem that has a reason to keep coming back to the brand.
Competition Themes and How to Enter
From 8 to 21 June 2026, participants are invited to submit original short-form video content under one of the following themes:
- Everyday Life: Capture meaningful, relatable, or visually interesting moments from daily life, campus life, friendships, routines, or personal experiences.
- Explore The World: Share travel stories, city discoveries, outdoor moments, cultural experiences, or hidden perspectives from the world around you.
- Pet Diaries: Showcase the personality, movement, emotions, or everyday adventures of pets through creative short-form storytelling.
Entries must be posted on the participant’s own public social media account on TikTok, Instagram Reels, Xiaohongshu or Facebook, with vivo Malaysia tagged and the official campaign hashtags included: #vivoX300Ultra, #ZEISSCinematics, #BornToCreate, #X300UltraCreator.
Prizes, Recognition and a Student Offer
The competition prize stack is structured to recognise creators at multiple levels, and importantly, to give them reasons to keep creating after the campaign ends. All winners will receive the vivo Experience Officer qualification, granting them access to future smartphone imaging experiences, content creation programmes and brand collaboration opportunities. The tiered prize list includes:
- Grand Prize: vivo X300 FE + 1-year vivo Experience Officer membership
- 2nd Prize: Redang Island Tour Package, 3D2N for 2 pax + 1 Year Exclusive Access to vivo’s Devices
- 3rd Prize: vivo Watch GT2 + 1 Year Exclusive Access to vivo’s Devices
- Best Campus Creator Awards, 3 winners: vivo TWS 3e + 1 Year Exclusive Access to vivo’s Devices
To further lower the barrier for students and aspiring young creators, vivo Malaysia is also introducing a RM150 Student Exclusive Offer for the vivo X300 FE, designed to make mobile imaging and content creation more accessible for users who are ready to begin their creator journey.
Our Take
The vivo X300 Ultra Youth Creator Awards is one of the more thoughtfully structured creator campaigns vivo Malaysia has run in recent years. The combination of a low-friction submission window (two weeks), three highly relatable themes, and a proper device-upgrade path for the top five finalists gives the campaign a real ladder effect: you enter with whatever phone you have, you can win your way into shooting on a flagship, and you can leave with a creator experience officer badge that has actual brand collaboration value. For Malaysian Gen Z creators, that is a more honest pitch than a flat “win a phone” giveaway.
There are a few caveats worth flagging. The top prize is a vivo X300 FE rather than the flagship X300 Ultra, which is a smart budget decision for vivo but means creators hoping to walk away with the headline device will need to negotiate the long tail through Experience Officer access and brand work. Participants should also read the campaign’s social posting requirements carefully. Cross-posting the same content across TikTok, Instagram Reels, Xiaohongshu and Facebook is a real commitment, and Xiaohongshu is still a smaller platform in Malaysia, so the choice of platform may matter more than the choice of theme for reach.
For vivo, the deeper play is the data and community. Every submission is a piece of creator content that lives on social platforms, every Experience Officer is a long-tail brand ambassador, and the RM150 student offer is a foot-in-the-door for young buyers who would not otherwise walk into a vivo store. If vivo executes the second half of the campaign well, the bigger winner in 2026 may not be the Grand Prize holder, but vivo’s own share of the Malaysian youth smartphone market.
