Earlier this year, we were thoroughly amazed by Gigabyte’s monitor offerings. Today, we’re looking at a further development of that legacy, the GIGABYTE MO27Q28G OLED Monitor.

This monster of a display could very well be the best monitor we’ve ever tested in this studio. It delivers an experience that is hard to put into words, but we’re going to try. Why is it so good? Let’s dive in.

The physical design of the GIGABYTE MO27Q28G OLED Monitor is a masterclass in minimalism. It features a stunning 4-sided borderless design that eliminates bezels on all four sides. This approach delivers an incredibly sleek look and a truly expansive, immersive viewing experience.

Gigabyte has packed the GIGABYTE MO27Q28G OLED Monitor with useful, gamer-centric software features. A unique function is Tactical Switch 2.0, which lets FPS gamers instantly switch resolutions with one click. The monitor also includes Game Assist, a suite of tools like custom crosshairs, timers, and PIP/PBP modes.

On the protection side, the OSD manages the AI OLED Care. This AI-based algorithm actively works to minimize the risk of panel burn-in, and its settings are customizable.

For hardware management, an exclusive KVM button makes switching between multiple devices a breeze. This is very much a “better than nothing” scenario, and we highly recommend using the earphone jack or external speakers.

Connectivity is a strong point. The GIGABYTE MO27Q28G OLED Monitor includes two HDMI 2.1 ports and one Displayport 1.4 port. It also features a versatile USB Type-C port that supports Alternate Mode and provides up to 18W of power, with dynamic delivery up to 45W.

For peripherals, you get two USB 3.2 Downstream Type-A ports and one USB 3.2 Upstream Type-B port. An earphone jack is also present. The star of the show, however, is the built-in KVM feature. Priced at RM2999, the GIGABYTE MO27Q28G OLED Monitor is certainly a refinement among the highest-priced monitors on the market. But for the absolutely stunning experience it offers, it could very much be the last monitor you’ll buy in this decade.

The strengths of the GIGABYTE MO27Q28G OLED Monitor are undeniable. The 4th Gen WOLED panel is the main star, delivering perfect blacks, incredible contrast, and vibrant, accurate colors.

For gamers, the 280Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time are a game-changer, not to mention it offer great gaming experience in sweet spot with all level of modern GPUs. Professionals will love the sharp QHD resolution, excellent ergonomics, and the productivity-boosting pivot and KVM features. The sleek, borderless design and robust port selection are just icing on the cake.

No product is perfect, but the cons here are minor. The RM2999 price tag places it firmly in the premium enthusiast category, which may be a barrier for some. The only other drawback is the built-in 5W speakers. They are weak and lack any real depth, making external audio a near-necessity for any immersive experience.
