Kaspersky Malaysia today unveiled their Kaspersky Extended Detection and Response (XDR) platform which aims to mitigate the costly threat of a targeted ransomware for businesses in Malaysia.

As you might have known, Ransomware is a malware that locks a device or files and continues to evolve in quantity and quality.

The people behind these attacks also continue to improve their tactics and tools to be even better at what they’re doing, which is of course a bad thing. Kaspersky has revealed that Lockbit is the most prolific targeted ransomware that attacked 115 unique businesses in Southeast Asia, where roughly $50 million was asked at ransom including from a private school in Malaysia.

With the new Kaspersky XDR, they aim for adaptability for organizations of all shapes and sizes. The platform features threat intelligence data from Kaspersky Security Network for better detection capabilities. Other benefits include:

  1. Consolidating a large volume of alerts into a much smaller number of incidents that can be prioritize for manual investigation
  2. Providing integrated incident response options that provide sufficient context so that alerts can be resolved quickly
  3. Prooviding response options that extend beyond infrastructure control points, including network, cloud, and endpoints to deliver protection
  4. Automating repetitive tasks to improve productivity
  5. Providing a common management and workflow experience across security components, creating greater efficiency

Included in the service are Kaspersky EDR Optimum, Kaspersky EDR Expert, Kaspersky Anti-Targeted Attack Platform, Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response, and Kaspersky Incident Response.
