In a landmark collaboration, Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Huawei Malaysia), N.U.R Power Sdn Bhd (NUR Power), and JS Solar Sdn Bhd (JS Solar) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop Malaysia’s inaugural Smart and Green Industrial Park within the Kulim Hi-Tech Park (KHTP), Kedah.

Green and Smart Energy Transition Roadmap Unveiled

The partnership aims to set a national benchmark for sustainable energy by focusing on the study, design, and formulation of the Green and Smart Energy Transition Roadmap for KHTP. This ambitious project seeks to revolutionize Malaysia’s sustainable energy sector and promote eco-friendly practices.

Strategic Roles Defined for Optimal Collaboration

Under the MoU, NUR Power will operate as the strategic Independent Power Utility, Huawei Malaysia as the technology enabler, and JS Solar as the strategic fulfilment partner. Key responsibilities include integrating Huawei Malaysia’s Solar Smart PV technology into NUR Power’s infrastructure, implementing Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions, and establishing Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure to boost electric mobility.

Research Initiatives for Cutting-Edge Technologies

The collaborative effort extends to research studies focused on integrating grid-forming solutions into the KHTP utility grid. This involves exploring innovative technologies like Smart Solar PV Inverters and implementing Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) solutions to enhance the grid’s adaptability and resilience during sudden voltage dips.
