Huawei Malaysia and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) have joined forces to launch the “Digital Leadership Excellence Programme: Navigating the Tech Frontier.” This initiative aims to empower leaders from various sectors with the necessary skills and knowledge to lead digital transformation efforts within their organizations.

Eight-Month Blended Learning Program

The eight-month program offers a comprehensive learning experience, combining online modules, workshops, industry conferences, practical attachments, and a capstone project. Participants will also gain valuable insights from a seven-day industry visit to China.

This program was developed in response to Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim’s call for leaders to stay informed about the latest technologies. The goal is to ensure they can leverage these advancements to improve outcomes across all industries.

Equipping Leaders for Success

“This program equips current leaders with a deeper understanding of emerging technologies and the skills to apply that knowledge for better operational efficiency,” said Huawei Malaysia CEO, Mr Simon Sun.

Marking the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations, the program’s first intake will have 50 participants. Over the next three years, the program aims to engage a total of 300 leaders from government, industry, and academia.

Industry Enthusiasm

Participants from various sectors expressed their excitement about the program’s potential. Mr Lee Keng Ket of TIME dotCom Berhad sees an opportunity for collaboration and knowledge sharing in areas like Big Data, AI, and 5G. Mr Firdaus Fadzil of EDOTCO Group Sdn Bhd appreciates the program’s diverse participation and comprehensive curriculum.

Flexible Learning and Comprehensive Curriculum

Understanding the time constraints of leaders, the program offers a flexible blended learning format with 75% online and 25% physical components. It covers eight key areas through 32 modules, including leadership, 5G technology, AI, IoT, cloud computing, big data, green technology, and cybersecurity.

The MoU for this collaborative effort was signed at the Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona, Spain.
