The ASUS ExpertBook P1 (P1403) aims to be a practical and reliable tool for modern professionals. It focuses on delivering a balance of performance, portability, and essential business features, making it a contender in the competitive business laptop market. It’s also more affordable than the ExpertBook P5 we checked out previously, so it has that going for it.
ASUS ExpertBook P1 (P1403) — What’s Good?
Effective features to make meetings better

Meetings can be a real snoozefest, but with the ASUS ExpertBook P1’s ASUS AI ExpertMeet suite, they can be a bit less so. While it lacks an NPU for AI acceleration, it uses the CPU and GPU to help with automating meeting minutes, summarizing the meeting and even translate the meeting notes. On the display here is the screen watermark, which helps you keep your screen contents confidential as you share it across with a simple yet effective watermark.
Adequate Power for Everyday Business Tasks

The ASUS ExpertBook P1 is equipped with an 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 processor. This provides sufficient processing power for most everyday business tasks, including email, web browsing, document editing, and presentations. While it might not be ideal for demanding creative workloads or intensive gaming, it handles typical office applications and multitasking with reasonable efficiency. Of course, if you want more, there’s the ASUS ExpertBook P5 on offer as well.
A utilitarian design that just works

The ASUS ExpertBook P1 is designed to not standout too much and draw attention to itself. Its relatively lightweight construction makes it easy to carry around, making it a suitable companion for professionals who frequently travel or work in different locations. Despite its focus on portability, the ExpertBook P1 also boasts military-grade durability. This combination of portability and durability makes it a practical choice for professionals who need a reliable device that can withstand the demands of their work.
All the essential connectivity for business

The ExpertBook P1 offers a range of connectivity options, allowing users to easily connect to peripherals such as external displays, projectors, and storage devices. This ensures compatibility with existing workflows and facilitates presentations and collaborations. There’s even a LAN port for those who are still hung up on wired network connectivity. Notably missing are Thunderbolt ports, but then again, there aren’t that many Thunderbolt devices out there anyway.
ASUS ExpertBook P1 (P1403) — What’s Not?
Lackluster display

Pun intended here, but the display of the ExpertBook P1 is quite drab. I can get by with the plastic build as it really feels quite solid with barely any flex, but the 45% NTSC and 300 nits max brightness is really not doing any justice to this otherwise awesome laptop. If only it had a slightly better display, I would wholeheartedly recommend it. As one usually spends most of their time looking at the screen, I do believe that spending a bit more for a better display is worthwhile in most cases. Unless, of course, you intend to leave the ExpertBook P1 connected to an external display.
