Addressing Growing Application and API Security Threats

Attacks targeting web applications and application programming interfaces (APIs) are increasing, posing a significant threat to enterprises. ThreatX Protect provides a WAAP solution that uses behavioral and risk profiling to protect against evolving threats, including those targeting AI applications, complementing AI firewalls. Delivered as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution, ThreatX Protect includes API protection, bot management, and a next-generation web application firewall.

Following this acquisition, the remaining assets of ThreatX will be relaunched as Run Security, with the eBPF-based solution TX Prevent rebranded as RS Prevent.

Hybrid Security Solutions and A10 Defend Portfolio

ThreatX Protect supports A10’s strategy of enabling customers to deploy A10 security solutions in a hybrid approach, protecting applications and APIs across various environments, including public cloud, private cloud, co-location facilities, and on-premises. The A10 Defend portfolio now includes DDoS protection, DDoS threat intelligence, and a full-featured WAAP solution, all integrated into a single platform for enhanced security of mission-critical applications.

The specific terms of the transaction were not disclosed. This acquisition aligns with A10’s strategy to expand its security portfolio and grow in the enterprise market. The acquisition does not represent a material change to the Company’s 2025 financial outlook or long-term business model.
