Acer Doubles Down on Snapdragon With Two New Laptops

Acer just dropped two new Snapdragon-powered laptops at Computex 2026 — and one of them is a category first. The Acer Swift Spin 14 AI brings the Snapdragon X2 Elite and X2 Plus to the premium convertible segment, while the Acer Aspire Go 15 becomes the first laptop ever powered by the new Snapdragon C platform. For Malaysian buyers, this is the clearest signal yet that Windows on ARM is moving from premium flagship territory down into the mainstream.

James Lin, GM of Notebooks at Acer, framed the Swift Spin 14 AI as “the ultimate engine for high-output achievers” with the Snapdragon X2 Series delivering “leading performance combined with a highly portable, convertible design.”

The Swift Spin 14 AI (SFSP14-Q51T) is Acer’s new premium convertible, powered by the Snapdragon X2 Elite (12-core) or Snapdragon X2 Plus processor with a Qualcomm Hexagon NPU delivering 80 TOPS. The 80 TOPS positions it as a Copilot+ PC, with full access to Windows 11 AI features.

Performance and AI:

  • Snapdragon X2 Elite (12-core) or X2 Plus
  • 80 TOPS NPU for on-device AI
  • Integrated Adreno GPU with DirectX 12.2 and hardware-accelerated ray tracing
  • Up to 32 GB LPDDR5X memory
  • Up to 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD
  • Supports up to three external 4K monitors

Battery and Charging:

  • 65 Wh battery
  • Up to 23 hours video playback
  • Up to 16.5 hours web browsing
  • 100W PD adapter via USB 4 Type-C for fast charging

The 23-hour battery is a meaningful upgrade over previous-gen Snapdragon X laptops. The multi-day unplugged use case is the headline here.

Design:

  • 360-degree hinges (laptop, presentation, display, tablet modes)
  • 14-inch WUXGA IPS glass touchscreen, 16:10, 120Hz, 100% sRGB, 300 nits, 1200:1 contrast
  • Acer Active Stylus 420 (Wacom AES 2.0) with 4096 pressure levels, tilt detection
  • Stylus garage with 30-second quick charge for 100 minutes of use
  • 15.9-16.5 mm thin, 1.34 kg
  • Cobalt blue aluminum chassis
  • MIL-STD-810H certified durability
  • Dual USB Type-C, dual USB 3.2 Type-A, HDMI 2.1

  • 5 MP IR camera with Acer TNR + privacy shutter, Windows Hello
  • DTS:X Ultra audio with Snapdragon Sound, dual speakers, three microphones
  • Acer PurifiedView + PurifiedVoice AI features
  • Acer My Key programmable hotkey

The Swift Spin 14 AI is one of the most thoughtfully designed premium convertibles on the market. The stylus garage with quick charging is a real differentiator — most convertibles require separate stylus charging or replaceable batteries.

Acer Aspire Go 15 — First Snapdragon C Laptop

The Aspire Go 15 (AG15-Q31P) is the first laptop ever powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon C processor. The C platform is positioned for the entry-tier price point, bringing Snapdragon’s efficiency advantages to budget-conscious buyers.

Key specs:

  • Snapdragon C processor with Qualcomm Adreno GPU
  • Windows 11 Home with Copilot key
  • 15.6-inch Full HD (1920×1080) display, 16:9
  • Up to 8 GB memory
  • Up to 512 GB storage
  • 53 Wh battery
  • Dual full-function USB Type-C, USB Type-A, HDMI 1.4
  • Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4+
  • 1080p FHD webcam, dual speakers
  • AcerSense + Acer My Key
  • 100% recyclable packaging, post-consumer recycled plastic components
  • Energy Star certified, EPEAT registered

The Snapdragon C platform is the most interesting part of the Aspire Go 15. Qualcomm hasn’t released full specs yet, but the positioning is clear — it’s the entry-tier sibling to the X2 Series, bringing ARM efficiency to the budget laptop category. The “cool, quiet design” language in the press release suggests fanless or low-fan operation.

For Malaysian students and first-time laptop buyers, the Aspire Go 15 with Snapdragon C could be a game-changer on battery life and price.

Both laptops are Windows 11 Copilot+ PCs (the Go 15 is listed as Copilot key only — likely not full Copilot+ but supports key features).

Swift Spin 14 AI features:

  • Click-to-Do context-aware actions
  • AcerSense system management
  • Acer My Key programmable hotkey
  • Acer PurifiedView + PurifiedVoice for video calls

Aspire Go 15 features:

  • AcerSense system management
  • Acer My Key programmable hotkey
  • AcerSense manages battery, storage, and apps for optimal performance

Our Take

The Swift Spin 14 AI is the most interesting premium convertible Acer has shipped. The combination of Snapdragon X2 Elite, 23-hour battery, MIL-STD-810H, and the thoughtful stylus garage with quick charging puts it in direct competition with the Lenovo Yoga 9i and HP Spectre x360 14. The cobalt blue color option is a nice design touch that stands out from the silver/gray crowd.

For Malaysian creators and hybrid professionals, the 80 TOPS NPU and 23-hour battery are the headline specs. The 4096-pressure-level stylus with tilt detection is professional-grade. The 1.34 kg weight makes it one of the lightest premium convertibles available.

The Snapdragon X2 Elite’s 12-core CPU and Adreno GPU with DirectX 12.2 ray tracing mean this laptop can actually game — not at desktop replacement level, but enough for casual AAA gaming at medium settings. The Snapdragon X Series has historically been underrated for gaming, and the X2 Elite should close the gap with Intel and AMD integrated graphics.

The Aspire Go 15 is the bigger story for the broader Windows on ARM ecosystem. Qualcomm launching a Snapdragon C platform for entry-tier laptops is the clearest signal that ARM is moving into the mainstream. If Acer can hit price points comparable to Intel Celeron or AMD Athlon laptops while delivering better battery life, the Aspire Go 15 could be the volume seller that pushes Windows on ARM into everyday computing.

For Malaysian students, the Aspire Go 15 is worth watching. Snapdragon’s efficiency advantages (cool, quiet, long battery) are particularly valuable in tropical climates where laptops tend to run hot. The 100% recyclable packaging and post-consumer recycled plastic components also align with the sustainability messaging that’s increasingly relevant for institutional procurement.

The question is whether the Snapdragon C platform can deliver acceptable performance for everyday tasks. The 8GB/512GB spec is conservative, but the 15.6-inch FHD display with Windows 11 should be smooth for web browsing, document work, and streaming.
