POCO has officially launched the POCO F9 Series in Malaysia, headlined by the POCO F9 Ultra and POCO F9 Pro. Both phones are built on Qualcomm’s latest flagship mobile platforms, but the F9 Ultra takes the lead with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, which posts an AnTuTu score of 4,165,108 in POCO’s internal labs — the highest ever recorded on a POCO smartphone.
For the first time on the F Series, both models pair their flagship processors with the dedicated VisionBoost D8 chipset, which enables Smart frame rate up to an industry-leading 185FPS. Smart frame rate and AI Super resolution can run simultaneously, delivering smoother motion and sharper detail during gameplay. POCO F9 Ultra also supports up to 1TB of ultra storage, giving gamers room to keep a sizeable library on the device itself.
Beyond raw silicon, the POCO 3D IceLoop cooling system is designed to keep the entire lineup stable during extended gaming sessions. POCO has integrated the WildBoost Engine into the software stack, and the high touch sampling rates — 4,800Hz instant touch and 480Hz 10-point touch, paired with a 200Hz gyro sampling rate — translate every input into fast, precise control. The 185FPS support is available natively across over 20 titles, with another 5 games reaching that frame rate through Smart frame rate.

Both POCO F9 Series phones feature ultra-high 185Hz POCO HyperRGB AMOLED displays. The F9 Ultra uses an expansive 6.9-inch panel, while the F9 Pro packs the same flagship display technology into a more compact 6.59-inch form factor. POCO HyperRGB technology uses a full RGB subpixel structure, making use of every red, green, and blue subpixel to deliver crisp visuals comparable to a 2K display while consuming less power.
The lineup also marks the global debut of the new M11 luminescent material, enabling up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness across multiple scenarios and up to 10,000 nits for HDR content. On the eye-care side, the POCO F9 Series introduces Xiaomi Vision Care — POCO’s first comprehensive eye care solution — which achieves TÜV Rheinland Quadruple Eye Care certification for reduced eye fatigue during long reading, video, or scrolling sessions.
Design-wise, the F9 Ultra introduces a dynamic light on the back panel for personalised effects on calls, notifications, gaming, and music. The POCO F9 Series continues POCO’s partnership with Bose through Sound by Bose technology. The F9 Ultra combines dual symmetrical 1115D master-grade stereo speakers with an ultra-large 1620 independent subwoofer to create a true 2.1-channel audio experience, delivering deeper bass and a wider soundstage. The F9 Pro uses dual symmetrical 1115F super-linear stereo speakers paired with a Sealed Cavity Design, producing rich midrange, crisp high frequencies, and finely rendered detail across the full frequency range.
Two professionally tuned sound profiles are available across the lineup: “Dynamic” for authentic and full bass character, and “Balanced” for overall balanced and pure vocals. Sound by Bose-powered tuning delivers detailed sound at low volumes and distortion-free sound at high volumes, restoring an authentic listening experience at every volume level. The collaboration also brings a new Game audio mode, which increases footstep loudness for clearer directional awareness while retaining the layered detail of gunfire, voices, and other in-game effects.
Battery, Imaging, and Availability
POCO F9 Ultra features the largest battery ever in the POCO F Series — a class-leading 8,050mAh (typ) unit with 16% silicon-carbon content for reliable 2-day battery life. The F9 Pro houses a substantial 6,330mAh (typ) battery for all-day use. Both models support 100W wired and 50W wireless HyperCharge, plus 27W wired and 22.5W wireless reverse charging for topping up other devices on the go.
For imaging, the series introduces POCO’s first-ever 200MP ultra-clear camera system with OIS across both models, complemented by a 32MP front camera. The F9 Ultra adds a flagship 5x periscope telephoto camera with 10x lossless zoom and 20x AI Ultra Zoom, while the F9 Pro features a 50MP 2.5x floating telephoto camera that focuses from as close as 10cm.

The POCO F9 Series is the most ambitious flagship launch POCO has ever attempted in Malaysia, and the spec sheet reflects that ambition. 185FPS gaming from a mid-range-priced flagship is a real headline number — and the dedicated VisionBoost D8 chipset means it is not just marketing. Combined with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the 185Hz HyperRGB display, the Bose-tuned audio, and the 200MP main camera, the F9 Ultra is essentially POCO’s “no compromises” flagship play for 2026.
The pricing is where POCO’s strategy gets interesting. At promo prices from RM3,299 for the F9 Ultra and RM2,799 for the F9 Pro, the series lands squarely between mid-range and traditional flagship territory, and the early bird bundles (POCO Pad C1, Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro, screen replacement warranty) add real value. For Malaysian gamers who would previously have defaulted to a Samsung Galaxy S or a Xiaomi numbered flagship, the POCO F9 Ultra is now a credible alternative at noticeably less money.
