NVIDIA RTX Video Super Resolution 1.5 arrives with the latest Game Ready Drivers
NVIDIA has just announced NVIDIA RTX Video Super Resolution (VSR) version 1.5, which is now further optimized to deliver better image quality, and more importantly, supports GeForce RTX 20 series GPUs. RTX VSR was initially introduced at CES 2023, before being available to GeForce RTX 30 series and 40 series GPUs later in March earlier this year. Turing GPUs had to wait for it, and now it is finally available to them.
NVIDIA RTX VSR 1.5: sharper videos and RTX 20 series support
NVIDIA has apparently retrained the AI model, which is now able to more accurately identify the difference between fine details and compression artifacts. This allows for higher quality upscaled videos, with sharper and crisper videos than what RTX VSR 1.0 was able to muster. On top of upscaling, RTX VSR can also now enhance videos at their native resolution, removing compression artifacts for a visually superior video.
These latest Game Ready Driver 545.84 (WHQL) will support the latest RTX VSR 1.5 on GeForce RTX 20 series, RTX 30 series and RTX 40 series GPUs in Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. Those who prefer to rely on NVIDIA Studio Drivers with their slower cadence will get RTX VSR 1.5 in an update coming early November.
