New drivers for AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT makes it up to 27% faster; now beats GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
As usual with AMD, Fine Wine happened. The new AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT is enjoying a humongous performance bump with the latest Adrenalin Driver 25.6.3, boosting performance by up to 27% in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered. While this huge a gain is only seen in a single title, the overall improvement is still quite significant, with the current AMD flagship graphics card gaining 9% on average at 1440p, and 4% on average at 4K.

The Radeon RX 9070 XT started its life being marginally slower than the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, but evidently these new optional drivers make it 3% faster than the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti at 1440p. It’s not to say NVIDIA’s latest drivers for the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti didn’t improve its performance — it just didn’t improve it as much. The green card’s latest drivers bump up its performance at 1440p by 2.5% on average, while performance at 4K increased by 3%.
Of course, these performance gains aren’t enjoyed across all games — some games are probably already well-optimized enough that these new drivers do not yield additional performance. But in games like Counter-Strike 2 or the aforementioned web-slinging game, you get the absolutely massive improvements, larger than what NVIDIA is offering gen-on-gen with NVIDIA Blackwell.
It is worth mentioning that MSRP vs MSRP, we’re looking at a US$ 749 card (GeForce RTX 5070 Ti) versus a US$ 599 one (Radeon RX 9070 XT), but of course, realistically the prices aren’t exactly following MSRP. With all that said, these new drivers make the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT a better buy than the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, as while the cheapest GeForce RTX 5070 Ti I found on Shopee comes in at RM4,099, the Sapphire Radeon RX 9070 XT Pulse is priced at only RM3,599, MSRP be damned.
