Soulful Thursdays – Talitha Tan performing at APW Bangsar

Jotun recently launched their latest Global Colour Collections for 2023, anchored by an overarching theme of ‘Stories’ through an exhibition at The Paper, APW Bangsar. Following the theme of curating authentic stories through the world of colours, three new collections – Serene Presence, Curated Living, and Naturally Grounded – were introduced for the first time, designed by Jotun’s Global Colour Manager, Lisbeth Larsen to inspire new versions of ourselves.

As colours are known to uplift the mind, body and soul, Jotun Malaysia embarked on a month-long activation (3rd November to 4th December) to encourage Malaysians to reflect and refocus on their wellbeing through the immersion of colours and the five senses. Throughout the month of November, Jotun Malaysia’s Colour Exhibition is transformed into an experiential space where a variety of curated workshops and special performances ignite the sense of sight, sound and smell as a respite to the hustle and bustle of life and inspiring visitors to share their stories. With colour guiding the way, the showcase is also a space where people can soak in the new colour palette, allowing visitors to visualise first-hand how these colours can be incorporated into their living spaces, bringing untold stories to life.

From live colour consultations with Jotun’s in-house colour experts to live performances by talented local musicians as well as collaborations with proudly local brands, the Jotun Colour Exhibition is a destination space for all things creative, artistic and inspirational.

Soulful Thursdays – Talitha Tan performing at APW Bangsar

Jotun has continued on a high since its launch event with live performances from Talitha Tan and Lost Spaces at the recent two Soulful Thursdays. The style of music from these performers was also adapted into a jazz-esque genre to fit with the overarching theme of soothing the mind, body and soul. Friends, families, and fans gathered together for an exciting night of great music and good company.

Nadiah from Nadiah Home participating in the Synesthesia Experience workshop by Lilin+Co

Inspired by the harmony of fragrance and colour, Jotun also hosted its first Synesthesia Experience in collaboration with artisanal candle company Lilin+Co. The session saw attendees such as home décor influencer Nadiah Home and power-couple Wingkeh & Keifth learn about candle-making and curate their very own colour and scent combinations as a method of storytelling through the senses. With everyone having a great time filled with fun, beautiful scents wafted through the air which further built a concoction of relaxation and togetherness.

NYALA’s Pop-up booth at the Jotun colour exhibition

Continuing on the theme of awakening the senses, Jotun had a week-long collaboration with local candlemaker NYALA, founded by the talented Azfar Heri, to display their range of scented candles. The pop-up store was specifically tailored as a sensory complement to the exhibition, creating an avenue for visitors to curate the ambience of their living space in line with their personal needs. Scented candles emit a positive and soothing vibe and are perfect for calming one’s surroundings during stressful peaks. With NYALA’s diverse range of scents, visitors had the perfect opportunity to explore the fragrances that truly speak to them.

Participants at the Yoga Workshop with Siu Lim

On the wellness front, Jotun held an exclusive yoga and pilates session hosted by influencer and certified instructor Siu Lim. Popular health and wellness influencers, Hansen Lee and Nana al-Haleq, along with their friends and followers, had the opportunity to get in-tune with their inner selves within the colour exhibition, enjoying a brief pause from the chaos of city life with a session of relaxation and restoration. Paired with the calming smells of NYALA’s scented candles, the session created an ideal space for participants to engage with their mind and body.

“Having been in the business of colours for many years, we recognise how colours can provide a sense of comfort and peace to our wellbeing and turn our homes into the perfectly-curated sanctuary” said Jotun’s Global Colour Manager, Lisbeth Larsen. “As our homes are an extension of ourselves, we wanted to explore different and innovative ways in which we can champion both colours together with healthy living in the same breath.”

Along with the new colour collections comes the introduction of Jotun’s Majestic Sense, a product that guarantees the perfect blend of healthy and beautiful living in our homes. Specially formulated through the integration of Clean Air Technology, Majestic Sense not only provides users a sustainable and environmental-friendly alternative, but also offers odour-less comfort, showcasing the best colour experience for a flawless finish. Visitors to APW can check out Majestic Sense throughout the colours displayed at the exhibition, and inquire more about the new product from in-house experts and consultants.
