Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB), established to accelerate 5G deployment in Malaysia, unveiled the nation’s largest 5G experience center, ‘My5G Portal,’ in collaboration with key partner Ericsson. The center offers an immersive space for visitors to explore the possibilities of 5G technology, with live demonstrations showcasing its impact on businesses and consumers.
Ericsson, nestled at the TRX Exchange 106 tower, displays its commitment to Malaysia’s 5G ecosystem. The ‘My5G Portal’ will serve as a learning hub for various stakeholders to understand 5G’s potential through real-world applications and technology showcases. This initiative aims to encourage interest, investment, and widespread adoption of 5G technology in Malaysia.
The center’s main zones cover the vision and capabilities of the DNB network, Ericsson’s end-to-end 5G products, enterprise and industry applications, and consumer and home applications. Some demonstrated 5G use cases include holograms, connected ambulances, smart surveillance cameras, mission-critical communications, 5G for connected enterprises, 5G education, fixed wireless access (FWA), and 5G remote driving.
With Malaysia already being a recognized global leader in 5G connectivity, the partnership between DNB and Ericsson strives to further enhance the 5G experience for consumers, with the goal of expanding 5G coverage from 70.2% to 80% by the end of the year.
