ASUS ExpertBook B9 OLED and B1 series cater to the needs of business users
It seems like the guys over at ASUS are on the same wavelength as me. When I reviewed the ASUS ExpertBook B9, I commented on quite a number of things that were actually addressed by the 2023 ASUS ExpertBook B9 OLED. Along with this premium offering, ASUS is also revamping the entry-level ExpertBook B1 series of business laptops, to ensure that there’s something for everyone.
ASUS ExpertBook B9 OLED: uncompromising performance with sustainability in mind
ASUS is keeping to the premium magnesium-lithium build to ensure that the ExpertBook B9 remains one of the lightest 14-inch business laptops in the world. Coming in a hair over 1kg, the ExpertBook B9 OLED is the ideal companion for the elite jetsetters out there. Thanks to the latest 13th Gen Intel Core processors and a revamped dual-fan cooling system, you can look forward to up to 36% performance improvements.
And of course, the biggest upgrade is already in the name. ASUS is finally switching out the outdated 14-inch 16:9 LCD for a 14-inch 16:10 2.8K OLED display, for more than just improved visual fidelity, but also a more comfortable viewing experience, thanks to the lower blue light emissions of OLED panels. As with all ASUS ExpertBooks that came before, the ExpertBook B9 OLED meets US MIL-STD-810H requirements.
On top of being designed to last, this laptop is created with sustainability at the forefront. A new manufacturing process not only increases chassis rigidity, it also reduces material waste by 29% and cuts production time by 75%, to maximize energy efficiency. Besides that, the ExpertBook B9 OLED is slated to be EPEAT Gold verified and exceeds ENERGY STAR standards, reducing its environmental impact for a more sustainable future.
ASUS ExpertBook B1 series: compact and practical
The ASUS ExpertBook B1 series also gets a refresh with new, compact designs that are still capable of shrugging off everyday bumps and scrapes with their US MIL-STD 810H durability. The sustainability aspect comes into play here with the ExpertBook B1 exceeding the stringent requirements of ENERGY STAR, while also featuring recyclable packaging.
As with all ASUS ExpertBooks, the ExpertBook B1 doesn’t skimp on security. There’s a physical webcam for privacy, infrared camera for facial recognition, optional fingerprint scanner, optional TPM 2.0 for enhanced data security as well as a Kensington lock slot for physical security — giving users the option to tie down the ExpertBook B1 to a hardpoint to be able to leave it unattended without worrying that it will be stolen easily.
The ASUS ExpertBook B1 is available in two sizes: the 14-inch ExpertBook B1402 and 15.6-inch ExpertBook B1502. Both feature 180-degree hinges as standard, with 178-degree viewing angles to facilitate easy collaborations. Up to the Intel Core i7 processors, 48GB memory and 2TB of fast PCIe 4.0 storage and the latest WiFi 6E technology ensures that the ExpertBook B1 series has what it takes to breeze through all your productivity needs.
I am definitely looking forward to the ExpertBook B9 OLED. It might just be the best business laptop yet, at least until ASUS decides to give us the ExpertBook B7 Flip OLED, with a magnesium alloy chassis. Make my dreams come true, ASUS.
