The AORUS GeForce RTX 4080 16GB MASTER is a top-of-the-line graphics card designed for gamers and professionals who demand the best performance and features from their system. This card is built on the NVIDIA RTX4080 Ampere architecture, featuring 16GB of GDDR6X memory, 9728 CUDA Cores, 304 Tensor Cores, and a variety of other cutting-edge technologies.
What sets the AORUS GeForce RTX 4080 16GB MASTER apart from other high-end graphics cards on the market is its innovative Windforce Bionic Shark fan and LCD Edge view. These features are designed to deliver optimal cooling performance and provide real-time feedback to users. However, the question remains whether these features are in high enough demand to justify a premium in price.
The AORUS GeForce RTX 4080 16GB MASTER
The AORUS GeForce RTX 4080 16GB MASTER is an imposing graphics card that makes a statement with its size and design. The card features three giant fans and a deep gray casing with a big font logo, establishing a strong presence for the card. Inside the casing lies the Windforce cooling system, which includes a large vapor chamber, 12 heatpipes, and cooling fins that cover almost half of the card’s size. The AORUS GeForce RTX 4080 16GB MASTER is well-equipped to handle extreme heat and tame it like a breeze.
To handle this giant cooling system, AORUS has equipped the card with a metal backplate that not only runs across the whole card but also provides additional support for users to install an anti-sag bracket. The card is quite heavy, so the extra support helps to prevent any sagging.
AORUS has also outfitted the card with an advanced RGB lighting system, not only on the card but also on the fans. The RGB system can be customized using the AORUS Engine software. The card also features a unique LCD edge view, which displays real-time information such as GPU temperature, clock speed, and fan speed.
However, the most unique and innovative feature of this card is its Windforce Bionic Shark fan design. The Windforce Bionic Shark fan is a unique cooling system designed specifically for the Gigabyte AORUS GeForce RTX 4080. Its 3D stripe curve design mimics the shape of a shark’s fins, improving airflow and reducing the noise level of the fan. This innovative design also allows for a larger fan blade surface area, resulting in better cooling performance.
The fan also features a unique “Alternate Spinning” technology, where the middle fan spins in the opposite direction to the outer fans. This technology reduces turbulence and enhances airflow, resulting in improved heat dissipation and overall cooling performance.

AORUS GeForce RTX 4080 16GB MASTER Benchmark
3DMark Speed Way
3DMark Speed Way is a new GPU benchmark by UL Solution that developed to benchmark GPU on Direct X 12 environment.
We ran a benchmark and were pleasantly surprised by the score of 7130, which is close to the average score of 7160 on 3DMark’s database. We had originally assumed that the RTX 4080 would be throttled by our one-and-a-half-year-old Ryzen 5 5600G, but it performed quite well. With this score, we can confidently say that the card can handle 1440p gaming with ease. It’s safe to say that, other than the 4090, this is the most powerful GPU out there.
We were also impressed with the card’s thermal performance. At 100% load in an ambient temperature of 28.4°C, the maximum temperature was around 65°C, which is quite good. The Windforce Bionic Shark fan seems to be doing its job well.
We decided to push the card even further by running the Final Fantasy XV benchmark with everything maxed out and the resolution set to 4K. The temperature remained consistent at 60°C during the test, and we achieved a score of 10355.
Not satisfied with these results, we ran FurMark for 30 minutes to really push the card to its limits. Even at 100% GPU load, the temperature remained consistently around 61°C, which is very impressive. During the test, we noticed that the hot spot temperature was at 71.8°C.
Even during gameplay, the temperature hardly surpassed 59°C. We played a round of Warhammer 40K: Darktide with all settings maxed out at 4K, and the experience was extremely smooth. Not only were the FPS consistently over 120, but the fan hardly made any noise and had just a gentle hum.
AORUS GeForce RTX 4080 16GB MASTER Conclusion
Overall, the AORUS GeForce RTX 4080 16GB MASTER is a powerful and impressive graphics card that offers top-of-the-line performance and features. Priced at RM7,398.00, it is almost RM1100 more than the RSP of RM6,300 suggested by Nvidia. Checking other benchmarks suggests that the Founder’s Edition card performs similarly in terms of thermal performance compared to the Aorus card.
The premium of the card instead is paid for the Windforce cooling system, we felt is more towards the LCD edge view. The LCD edge view built into the card in RTX4000 series so far is unique to Aorus only. It is a very useful tools for OC and for hardware monitoring purpose, yet we can’t help but feeling the price premium is a bit too high. None the less we saw the card offered at RM6999, making it a more reasonable purchase.
With all that said, the AORUS GeForce RTX 4080 16GB MASTER is a solid choice for serious gamers and professionals who demand the best performance from their system and with exisitng tools to monitor the hardware.
