A10 Networks has announced A10 AI Gateway, an intelligent control plane designed to centralise how organisations manage AI agents, applications, and large language models running inside their environment. The product is scheduled to become available in the fourth quarter of 2026, with pricing and packaging details expected closer to launch.
The pitch is straightforward: as enterprises embed AI into more business workflows, the number of AI providers, models, and agent frameworks in use has multiplied. That creates three compounding problems — nobody knows exactly which models are being called, the bills grow unpredictably as usage scales, and governance or security controls have to be retrofitted onto a system that was never designed for them in the first place. A10 is positioning the gateway as a single chokepoint that addresses all three.
What A10 AI Gateway Actually Does
At its core, the gateway sits between AI consumers (developers, employees, applications) and the AI services they call. Instead of letting every endpoint talk directly to OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, or any other provider, the gateway intercepts those requests and applies three layers of policy: identity, routing, and cost.

The result is fewer wasted tokens on requests that did not need a top-end model.
The cost layer gives administrators real-time per-request cost tracking in actual dollars, per-model and per-team token budgets with hard limits and soft-limit alerts, and TPM/RPM (transactions-per-minute, requests-per-minute) controls by API key or team. Centralising this visibility is the single biggest operational win for organisations that have lost track of where their AI spend is going.

Availability And Executive Framing
A10 AI Gateway is scheduled for general availability in Q4 2026. Dhrupad Trivedi, president and CEO of A10 Networks, framed the launch around the tension most enterprises are feeling right now: “Enterprises are being asked to move fast on AI and stay in control at the same time. AI use is spreading faster than teams can discover, govern, or secure it.” His pitch is that the gateway gives security and platform teams a single control plane to match, rather than chase, that spread.

A10 AI Gateway is a sensible product for the messy middle of enterprise AI adoption. It does not try to replace the model providers or compete on raw inference performance — it tries to make a fragmented AI estate auditable, governable, and cost-disciplined. For APAC organisations running multi-model deployments across AWS, Azure, and on-prem clusters, the on-premises-only deployment model is the actual differentiator against the cloud-hosted AI gateways from the hyperscalers. Whether that is enough to win deals against established API management platforms will come down to execution and integration depth at GA.
