Huawei MatePad 11 2023 Review: Younger, Newer, Bigger
MatePad 11 2023, You can’t miss me
The Huawei MatePad 11 2023, launched alongside the MatePad Air, appears to offer a similar package compared to its larger counterpart. However, upon closer examination, we discovered several aspects of the MatePad 11 that overlap with the MatePad Air. It’s uncommon for a brand to release products that are highly similar, which piqued our curiosity.
While it may seem like a downsized and less powerful variant, our experience with this device revealed surprising similarities with the MatePad Air. In this comprehensive review, we aim to assess whether the MatePad 11 can genuinely deliver a comparable user experience to the MatePad Air, especially when viewed from the perspective of a working professional, similar to our previous analysis of the MatePad Air.

Build and Design:
The standout feature of the MatePad 11 2023 is its bright and vibrant 2.2K resolution screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, providing a fluid viewing experience. It is not only suitable for outdoor use but also excels as a nighttime reading tablet with its low light and blue light options enabled. I have spent several nights reading ebooks on the MatePad 11 before sleep, and the gentle backlight is easy on the eyes and doesn’t disrupt my sleep.
Although not explicitly mentioned, the MatePad 11 2023 boasts four speakers powered by Histen, an in-house audio enhancement technology. Listening to music on it is quite pleasant, but where it truly shines is in the clarity of vocals during conference calls.
When paired with the keyboard case, the tablet takes on the appearance of a leather-bound hardcover book, lending it a unique and professional aesthetic. However, it is noticeably bulkier and heavier compared to the MatePad Air. While it exudes a sense of sturdiness and provides a reassuring feel in hand, users who prefer lighter devices might find this aspect less appealing. The case also presents a minor inconvenience due to reduced tactile feedback when using it, making it slightly challenging to locate buttons.
The MatePad 11 2023, comes with a 13MP camera. While there will not be photography break though here, the camera is great for productivity work such as document scanning or conference call.
PC like experience with MatePad 11:
Similar to the MatePad Air, these tablets are designed to deliver a PC-like experience. This doesn’t mean you can run Windows PC software on them, but they offer key features that set tablets apart from PCs, such as having multiple windows on the screen and running background apps. Both the MatePad Air and MatePad 11 excel in delivering this functionality.
The Huawei-exclusive WPS app is designed to replicate the functionality of Windows PC office suite software. It is thoughtfully optimized for multi-window multitasking, catering to professionals who rely on office applications. The MatePad 11 2023 boosts tablet productivity, similar if not on par with the MatePad Air, providing a PC-like experience that enhances productivity.
Typing with MatePad 11, Hello World:
The accompanying keyboard offers tactile feedback with a short key travel distance. While it may not provide the best typing experience, it features a softer keypress that is reminiscent of a membrane keyboard.
The key caps, while textured, lack a slight curve to better accommodate fingers. While it won’t replicate the typing experience of a full-fledged keyboard, it serves as a practical solution for those seeking portability without sacrificing productivity.
Conclusion, A darn good entry range tablet:
Officially Priced at RM1499, we can find the Huawei MatePad 11 2023 in market now around the price of RM1150. Even though slightly thicker and heavier than its larger counterpart, the MatePad Air, it still effectively delivers nearly all the features and functionality of the Air but in a more compact and budget-friendly package.
The Huawe MatePad 11 2023 offers similar experience with the MatePad Air with less money and more weight 🙂 . Its it a radiant expamble of modern professional tablet with great screen that will appealing to avid readers and modern nomad.
