Strengthening Malaysia’s AI Talent Pipeline

In a major announcement, Simon Sun, CEO of Huawei Technologies (Malaysia), unveiled a bold new initiative. “We have set the goal of nurturing 30,000 Malaysian AI talents,” he said. This program, part of the broader Huawei Malaysia AI Talent Programme, will benefit students, government officials, industry leaders, and more over the next three years, ensuring a robust pipeline of skilled professionals for the nation’s digital future.

Building a Robust AI Ecosystem

In addition to talent development, Huawei Cloud is committed to nurturing 200 local AI partners. Keynote Insights from Industry Leaders

Aka Dai, Vice President of Huawei Cloud Marketing, highlighted that intelligence is the new trend, with cloud and AI as the core engines of growth. Ms. Li Yin, Chief Technology Officer of Huawei Cloud Enterprise Intelligence, detailed how Huawei Cloud’s Pangu foundational large model and ModelArts AI toolchain are enabling enterprises to develop customized AI solutions for more than 30 industries globally. She outlined three key focus areas: strengthening a secure AI computing foundation, powering industry-to-business solutions, and fostering ecosystem growth.

The summit, which brought together over 300 industry delegates, also featured key speakers such as Shamsul Izhan Abdul Majid, Head of the National AI Office (NAIO) Malaysia, and leaders from iFLYTEK, Zetrix, and TrustDecision Malaysia.
