Huawei Malaysia and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) have formed a strategic alliance to support aspiring Malaysian students in their pursuit of higher education. This collaboration aims to cultivate future tech leaders by providing financial assistance and opportunities for professional growth.
Empowering Students through Financial Support
A cornerstone of this partnership is a new sponsorship program that will provide financial aid to deserving UTM students. Selected students will receive full tuition fee coverage for one academic year. To be eligible, students must be Malaysian citizens enrolled in their second to fourth year of study at UTM and maintain a commendable academic record of at least 3.20 CGPA.
Prioritizing ICT Talent
Huawei recognizes the significance of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) skills in today’s digital age. Students possessing Huawei certifications such as HCIA, HCIP, or HCIE will be given preferential consideration for the sponsorship program. Additionally, participation in Huawei’s talent development initiatives, including the Seeds for the Future program and Sales Elite Challenge, will enhance a candidate’s eligibility.
Building a Strong Talent Pipeline
Upon graduation, sponsored students are encouraged to join Huawei for a minimum of two years. This strategic move allows Huawei to nurture top talent and contribute to Malaysia’s technology landscape.
A Shared Commitment to Excellence
Both Huawei and UTM share a vision of fostering a skilled and innovative workforce. This collaboration exemplifies the importance of industry-academia partnerships in addressing talent shortages and driving national development.
