Calling All Gamers! Asia Pacific Predator League Returns with USD400,000 Prize Pool

Get ready, esports enthusiasts! The Asia Pacific Predator League (APPL) is back for its sixth edition, offering a massive USD400,000 prize pool and a chance to compete in the Grand Finals held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Dota 2 and VALORANT Battles for Regional Glory

Organized by Acer, the APPL 2025 features the two most popular esports titles – Dota 2 and VALORANT. Gamers and coaches from 15 countries across Asia Pacific will square off for regional bragging rights. This marks the first time the Grand Finals will be held in Kuala Lumpur, a vibrant and multicultural city.

Tournament Growth and Increased Accessibility

The APPL has steadily grown since its inception, expanding from eight initial participating regions to 15 today. Over the years, the tournament has awarded a cumulative prize pool of USD 1.75 million to aspiring esports talents.

Character Design Competition Winner Announced

The APPL 2025 kicked off with a character design competition themed “It Lies Within!” The winners were CHK DSK and Sid Ibamit from the Philippines, while YoungPray (Thailand) and Jiva (Indonesia) received runner-up honors.

Malaysia Qualifiers Open for Registration

Aspiring Malaysian teams can register for the APPL 2025 Malaysia Qualifiers now until August 18, 2024. To vie for a share of the local prize pool and a chance to claim the Predator Shield, register at https://bit.ly/3WH7POV.

To make the tournament more accessible, Acer is hosting qualifiers across four Malaysian territories – north, central, south (Peninsular Malaysia), and east Malaysia – from mid-September to the end of October 2024. The territory champions will then compete in an offline event in Klang Valley in November.

The winner of the Malaysia Qualifiers will receive a significant portion of the RM180,000 local prize pool and the ultimate honor of representing Malaysia at the APPL Grand Finals against the best teams from 14 other regions.
