Xiaomi Pad 6 Review

Looking for a decent tablet for your usage? Well we’ve recently got our hands on the Xiaomi Pad 6. Let’s find out if it’s the one for you in this full review. Without wasting any time, let’s get started shall we?

What is in the box?

The packaging is rather simple from Xiaomi here, where the packaging comes in the form of a white box. Inside you’ll find a 33W fast charger, a type-C cable, documentation for the product as well as the tablet itself.

First Impressions

The Xiaomi Pad 6 isn’t the most expensive of tablets available around the market, which isn’t a bad thing. What surprises me is that with its price point, it doesn’t exactly feel ‘cheap’. I feel that the brand managed to give it a sleek design and feel, which is always a plus point.

It’s fitted in with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, so you know there’s assurance of protection. That being said, I’d definitely get a protective case to give some…well protection. Unfortunately the tablet didn’t came with one out of the box so I’d suggest you to get one.

Made for entertainment?

When it comes to the display, it sports a 11-inch IPS LCD panel with 2880 x 1800 resolution and a fast 144Hz refresh rate display. To top it off, it also offers support for Dolby Vision HDR, which is more than welcomed.

One of the perks that the tablet packs is its Harmon Kardon stereo speakers. If you’ve never experienced it for yourself, it’s no gimmick. Thanks to it, you’ll definitely notice the difference in audio quality, especially when it comes to the bass department.

If I were to watch my video content on my smart devices, I’d usually look for my earbuds for a better ‘immersive’ experience you can say but with the tablet, I was happy with the audio quality as it is. It’s loud and clear enough for me to enjoy fully.

Of course, every product has drawbacks. Nothing is perfect anyways. What is it you may ask? You may be disappointed by the fact that it doesn’t offer cellular support as it doesn’t come with a SIM tray.

Another thing that I would have liked on the device is simply more security options such as maybe a fingerprint sensor or facial recognition. I know that with the lack of cellular network support would rarely make me bring it outside of my home but the addition of such features would have been welcomed.

Coming to the battery, it definitely came out better than I expected. The Xiaomi Pad 6 comes with a big 8840mAh battery to boast. I find that the tablet could last me roughly 3 days before I find the need to find the charger. Talking about the charger, it comes with a 33W fast charger. While there’s definitely faster chargers out there in the market, it’s definitely fast enough. With the charging brick, it could charge the tab roughly 40% in a 30-minute charging period, in case you are curious on how fast it is.

Should you get the Xiaomi Pad 6?

Before you decide in purchasing something, you need to decide on what exactly what you’re looking for and in this case, it’s no different. If you are looking for a smart tablet that comes with plenty of features for you to enjoy at home, it’s definitely an attractive option. It’s all the better as the Xiaomi Pad 6 retails from the price of RM1,299. It’s not exactly the cheapest tab out there, but for what it offers, I’d say it’s bang for buck.
