After three months of intense competition, the Haier Cup 2025 has officially wrapped up, uniting over 1,300 amateur badminton enthusiasts from across the country. The tournament, which saw a significant increase in participation, culminated in a series of thrilling final matches, setting the stage for the highly anticipated regional showdown in Bali.

Nurturing the Next Generation of Champions

This year marked a historic moment for the tournament with the introduction of the Haier Cup Junior 2025. The new category attracted over 500 enthusiastic young shuttlers, some as young as seven years old, demonstrating a strong commitment to cultivating future Malaysian badminton stars.

“This initiative is especially close to our hearts, as it aims to inspire and nurture young talent, giving them the opportunity to develop their skills, build confidence, and foster a lifelong passion for sports,” said Julian Thean, Haier Malaysia Brand Marketing Assistant Director.

Winners Head to Bali to Defend National Pride

Champions from the main categories—Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles—will now carry the Malaysian flag to Bali in October. They will face off against top contenders from Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, aiming to defend Malaysia’s regional crown from last year’s event. The winners took home a share of RM60,000 in cash and Haier products.
