ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) Malaysia today announces local pricing, specifications, and availability for their latest 2023 ROG Flow laptop lineup. The Flow X13 features an all-new 13-inch Nebula Display for the very first time, as well as a redesigned chassis and upgraded internals. The iconic Flow Z13 also boasts a new 13-inch Nebula Display, and new silicon pushes the boundaries of tablet gaming to new heights. The Flow X16 returns with a gorgeous Mini LED Nebula HDR Display, but swaps out the AMD CPU from 2022 for a 13th Gen Intel ® Core ™ i9-13900H processor, and makes the leap to the new NVIDIA® GeForce RTX ™ 4060 Laptop GPU for incredible gaming and content creation power on the go.

ROG Flow Z13 (2023) – RM8,999

The groundbreaking gaming tablet is back again in 2023 to once again lay claim to the title of “the world’s most powerful gaming tablet”. The compact 13-inch display gets the ROG Nebula treatment for 2023, now capable of 100% DCI-P3 and a quick 165Hz refresh rate. Connected to a new MUX Switch that supports Advanced Optimus, you get up to 30% faster performance in games like Rainbow Six Siege.

Under the hood we have an Intel Core i9-13900H paired with a GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU, capped at a TGP of 65W. This is cooled by a vapor chamber with liquid metal on both CPU and GPU to ensure the most efficient thermal transfer possible. An unexpected upgrade are the cameras. The webcam is now a 3DNR 5MP one, while the rear shooter is now capable of 13MP shots, up from 8MP last year. With all the upgrades, the ROG Flow Z13 is still mind-bogglingly thin and light, coming in at just 12mm and 1.1kg.

The ROG Flow Z13 comes in at RM8,999, packing 16GB RAM and 1TB of PCIe 4.0 storage. It’s expected to be available on shelves by mid-March 2023.

ROG Flow X13 (2023) – Pricing TBC

For those who prefer a 2-in-1 convertible instead of a tablet, the ROG Flow X13, refreshed with a new design and the latest hardware might be right up your alley. You get a similar 13-inch ROG Nebula display, and it also has the same tougher Gorilla Glass DXC coating for reduced glare and increased scratch resistance. Instead of Intel at its core, we have AMD here instead.

The ROG Flow X13 is powered by an AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS and a GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU, with a max TGP of 60W. Even with the hardware upgrades, the ROG Flow X13 (2023) is actually more compact than its predecessor, being 10mm smaller while also enlarging the trackpad by 56%. For those who found the ROG Flow X13’s trackpad a tad too cramped, this upgrade is definitely going to enjoy using this ultracompact gaming beast with you more.

ROG Flow X16 (2023) – Pricing TBC

The biggest member of the ROG Flow family, the Flow X16 is the one for those who deem the 13-inchers to be too small for their needs. While I argue that it’s less about the size and more about how you use it, ROG is gracious enough to give us two options for these versatile 2-in-1 convertibles. Coming in with a ROG Nebula HDR panel that has been upgraded to offer a 240Hz refresh rate and a whopping 1024 dimming zones, the ROG Flow X16’s display is sure to impress.

The larger dimensions allow for more room for cooling, and thus we have a GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU with a 120W max TGP, paired up with an Intel Core i9-13900H. This also means that you get Thunderbolt 4 support, unlike last year’s model. If you are an AMD fan, this shift might be a slight bummer, but ROG also has several other AMD-powered machines for you to choose from.

ROG XG Mobile (2023) – RM9,999

No mention of the ROG Flow series will be complete without talking about the ROG XG Mobile. This year’s rendition packs a GeForce RTX 4090 running at up to 150W, with a generous 16GB of GDDR6. Cooling is courtesy of a vapor chamber, to keep the GPU running happily. A 330W power supply ensures that both the GPU and the connected ROG Flow laptop are well fed. Of course you get a wide assortment of ports to amp up your connectivity experience, especially when paired up with the compact 13-inch ROG Flow models.

The ROG XG Mobile (2023) is coming in April at RM9,999. For those of you who want to upgrade your 2021 or 2022 ROG Flow laptops with the 2023 ROG XG Mobile, you can, as ROG has maintained backwards compatibility by using the same proprietary connector introduced back in 2021.
